‘TIS THE SEASON

Hi all, the sudden onset of winter and Christmas decorations never fails to catch us by surprise! But here we are heading onto December and we have some special events coming up that you’re invited to and a few bits of news to relay.

First up – do check out the CACL’s major fundraiser, The Festival of Trees, at the library. Drop by, check out the lovely trees, buy some ballots and cast them in the box next to the tree sponsored by the business who’s prize you want to win. We have partnered with Seabright Gardens to decorate an edible Christmas tree and donate $250 worth of gift certificates – $200 for food and drink at The Townhouse and $50 for Seabright Gardens’ market stall where they sell beautiful produce, all natural wreaths and christmas decorations, herbal teas and more. The CACL is a wonderful community organization – several of our good friends (Lilly, Courtney, Heather) are employed in the community through the CACL, or in the CACL’s excellent bakeshop and print shop, and their jobs mean a lot to them!
Next up two highly anticipated music events:

Saturday, Dec. 10, 8pm –  Reggae Night with Won-Love Sound System

Augie Jones will be spinning roots reggae from the 60s & 70s from 8pm until last call. There is no cover charge and this event fills the place up quickly so come early! Facebook event here.

Sorry, but due to unforeseen circumstances, we’ve had to cancel Reggae night – look for one in the New Year!

Wednesday, Dec. 21, 9pm – Another Charlie Brown Christmas

A live performance of Vince Guaraldi’s 1965 album, ‘A Charlie Brown Christmas,’ and classic holiday songs sung by jazz vocalist Carolyn Curry, with Daryl Nichol on piano, Cassie Mann on bass, Alex Lank on drums, and a guest appearance by trumpeter Aaron Bannerman.

Tickets are $10 and will be sold in advance starting December 1st. Please bring cash to buy your tickets. Tickets can be reserved by telephone, 902-863-2248, after 4pm, but must be picked up/paid for in cash before the event.

Finally, please note our Christmas break will be a little different this year.

WE WILL BE CLOSED DEC. 24 – JAN. 4th

We apologize to anyone who was looking forward to our annual New Year’s Event as much as we were. We’ve decided to take a year off, but look forward to an excellent 2017 at The Townhouse!

Thanks to each one of you for your support and patronage in 2016 – we sincerely appreciate the warm and vibrant Antigonish community – and we wish you all a merry & bright Christmas holiday and a great big, shiny new year!

– Rose & Terry and The Townhouse Crew
