John Hanlon and friends are playing a special Irish song focused concert session tonight. It’s a fundraiser for a CD they’ll be recording of tunes from The Townhouse Irish Sessions. They also won the most recent Awesome Antigonish Foundation grant of $1000 to help with the costs of recording and producing the album. The CD will be available for sale at The townhouse, among other places, and all sales will go to the Antigonish Food Bank! Check out their pitch to the Awesome Foundation here. The show will start at 9pm, and their will be a suggested donation of $10 towards the project. We’re so proud of this group and hope you can join us and hear stellar session stalwarts, John, Kenny, Jr, Stan, Heather, Susie, Hannah, and special guest singers including Mary Beth Carty, Rosemary Curry, and hopefully Vince Pelerine!
And if you can’t join us tonight, or haven’t been to a session before, you have a chance to join us tomorrow night at 6:30 for our regular and truly wonderful Irish session. It’s the best night of the week at The Townhouse – it feels like a proper pub in the old country, with a great crowd of immensely talented musicians, a Sunday Roast fit for a king, and it happens every Sunday!
One more note for you all – we are open 7 days a week this winter, and have a dinner special on every night. And we have a lots of great community events happening all winter long. Next up:
