MAR 7 – Live Music: Morgan Davis (Blues), 9pm

We’re very pleased to be bringing Davis back for his 4th show at the Townhouse – we’re huge fans of his great guitar sound, song-writing and really fracking funny stage banter!

Davis has been playing the blues across Canada, the U.S. and Europe for 42 years – there is no doubt that this is a professional performer!

He is also the recipient of multiple Maple Blues Awards for songwriting, production, and playing. He was given the Toronto Blues Society “Blues with a Feeling ” award in 1982, and won a JUNO in 2003 for Blues Album of the Year.

Over the years, he has shared the stage with such blues legends as Sunnyland Slim, James Cotton, Hubert Sumlin, Snooky Pryor, and Dr. John. He has opened for Willie Dixon, John Lee Hooker, John Hammond, and many others.

He currently performs solo, playing traditional and original material on electric guitars as well as a 3 string cigar-box guitar. He aims to get the Townhouse rockin’ and reelin’ with a whole lot of feelin’ from the floor to the ceiling ! Come on down !!!

MAR 21 – Live Music: The Urban Surf Kings (Instrumental Surf Rock)

Halifax’s veteran surf rock group are coming to town! These guys put on an amazing show and we’re so very excited to be hosting them for their first ever show in Antigonish! … check ’em out…

Canada’s East Coast instro-nuts, URBAN SURF KINGS, play surf music, 1960’s style. Think the beach blasts of Dick Dale, the leather jacket rumble of Link Wray, and the biker fuzz of B-movie heroes Davie Allan & the Arrows. It’s fun for the whole family!

The 20-year-old trio features Rev Hank on surf guitar, Crash Flagg on surf bass, and Inky on traps. They are officially the longest running surf band in Canada!

URBAN SURF KINGS have 12 releases to date, including their November 2014 seven-inch ep, Penguin or Robot?. All of their previous CDs & 45s have charted on campus/community radio across Canada, and the US.

With a fan base that extends around the world (including North & South America, Europe, Asia & Australia), Urban Surf Kings may be the busiest surf band in Canada.

APR 3-13  – TOWNHOUSE CLOSED

We’ll be sorry to inconvenience any of you, or deprive you of great NS ales, but we’re taking a bit of a break in April to give the crew a rest and do some adventuring. Terry & I are going to walk some of The Cotswold Way and check out some classic British breweries (and pubs, of course.)
