We’re very excited to be hosting this great event in celebration of the awesome new50% Local Food Club campaign which encourages all Nova Scotians to take the challenge to eat 50% local for the month of September. We’re also excited to have an opportunity to showcase (and consume) more of the diverse and excellent beers being produced in our little province, and demonstrate how well they pair with food.
Big Spruce, Canada’s second Certified Organic brewery, located just outside of Baddeck in Nyanza, will be taking over most of our taps and we’ll be pouring their Regatta Red, Cereal Killer Stout, Kitchen Party Pale Ale, and Hoppily Married – their seasonal IPA! Plus we’ll be starting with one of Terry’s brews upon your arrival!
That’s 5 beers (8 oz) + 4 courses of gourmet local food, including rack of lamb, duck confit paté, oysters, and beautiful fresh veggies.
The producers, brewers and chef will all be attending and will each say a few words, giving us a bit of insight into their production methods, challenges, and motivations. And there’ll be plenty of opportunity for questions and chatting.
